  • Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then beat in vanilla.
  • Gradually stir in dry mixture just until blended.
  • Roll the dough into walnut-sized balls then roll in colored sugar.
  • Refrigerate balls for at least 20 minutes or freeze until ready to bake.
  • Place cookies 2" apart on an un-greased cookie sheet and flatten slightly with the palm of your hand.
  • Bake in a 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned at the edges.
  • Cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes, then remove to cool on a wire rack.

  1. What type of flour is used? Can self rising work?
     
  2. Can this be used for cut outs you know like for xmas cookies
     
  3. Would powder sugar work For a Substitute for sugar
     
  4. I must be the only dummy that can't figure out where the sprinkles fit in? In place of colored sugar or in addition to?

  1. I'm old and lazy.....I use a cake mix, 1/3 c oil & 2 eggs. Add whatever you want...chips, cinnamon and sugar on top etc. Very soft and chewy. Thanks.

  3. Help! I can't stop eating these cookies! I only use RecipeZaar (always have) and searched high and low for a s.c. recipe to add M&Ms to (like the ones you buy at the bakery). These are soooo good! The only alteration I made was I only had 2 sticks/cups of butter so I did 1/4 cup of smartblend margarine. Delicious, and easy ingredients you always have on hand.
     
  4. These are so awesome! Even my husband who never eats sweets (especially cookies) loved them. Definitely not a recipe for cutting out shapes though - just big and soft and chewy!
     
  5. My wife said that I make the world's number one soft and chewy peanut butter cookie I don't even like peanut butter but I love my peanut butter cookie until I made these LOL now these are her number one cookie thanks

  1. These tasted even better when we baked in M&Ms with them. Yum! Also heating them in the micorwave for 20 seconds before eating
