Promised the kids spaghetti last night but didn't know we had no jarred sauce. Googled EASY spaghetti sauce recipe and was delighted to find this. I threw together some meatballs (ground beef, chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, etc.) on the side, added a tiny bit of red balsamic vinegar and Wow! I loved it. My 15 year old asked for a little less HOT next time but I really liked it just the way it was. Thank you!

I've made this twice now, the last time doubling it for a Christmas Eve get-together. I use petite diced tomatoes and adjust sugar/red pepper to our tastes. I pair it with Basic Meatballs recipe #8060. It's all just so incredibly easy and delicious. Even my husband, who thinks "real" spaghetti sauce only comes in a jar, kept commenting on how good it was. This is now one of my favorite meals to make. Thanks for the recipe.

Absolutely love this recipe. I hate the jarred stuff and rarely stock it in my pantry but I'm always in the need for spaghetti sauce. This is easy, delicious and adjustable to your taste. I blend it at the end because I don't like the texture of canned diced tomatoes. I also have a food picky child and if I blend it, she doesn't complain about the tomatoes.

I didn't have tomato sauce so I just added 2 cans on Italian stewed tomatoes + 1 can of paste. Then I added a little bit of chopped purple onion, 1 stalk of celery, 2 fresh (not canned) banana peppers, 1/2tsp minced garlic. I omitted the sugar...(I find that tomatoes are very sweet on their own). I let that cook down a little & then added Italian meatballs to it. Served over shredded cabbage. A fabulous meal & a great alternative to noodle! Yummm
