Questions & Replies

  1. Here in Texas we call them "Sandtarts". And, we measure out the dough, by rolling it out about half the length of our finger. After, they are finished cooking in the oven, we have a big ole' bowl of powered sugar we flop them around in. After Momma retired and moved with Daddy to the county. I used to make her a batch around the holidays. Every year she would start calling in October to remind me to make them and told me it wouldn't hurt her feelings if I sent them early. My Momma always worked. And she couldn't cook at all. She could burn water. Karen

  1. I love this recipe!! I use chopped peacons for the nuts. This recipe is absolutely a must try!! These cookies homemade are much better than the store brand.

  2. These are great! Just like my abuela used to make, only to replicate hers exactly I added a half a teaspoon of cinnamon to the dough and I used margarine at room temperature. I didn't refrigerate the dough and I had no crumbling issues. Thanks for posting this.

  3. Great cookies! I made mine with pecans. These cookies should not be baked until they are golden brown, they will harden up a bit after they cool. Thanks for the recipe.
